This was the perfect compliment to my boat stereo. Enough power to feel the bass, but not so much that it overpowers the rest of the music. Perfect addition!
True bass with no distortion July 2, 2010

Installed this subwoofer into front of helm on pontoon boat. Before application sound was lost probably due to the large open areas of the pontoon. After installation the speaker's sound significantly incresed their clarity and pitch and the subwwoofer takes on easily the different rythms of all ranges of music from easy listening to heavy metal. We love this unit!

If you're looking to add some bass to your boat stereo, then this sub/amp combo is a great addition. If you want to be the king of bass on the lake, then you need to keep looking. This combo provides enough bass in a free form mounting on our 21' boat to definitely provide some vibration throughout the boat, but it's not knocking anyone's socks off. For under $200 it's a steal of deal and was the perfect compliment to my 8 speaker system. The only gripe I have is that there is no adjustment on the amp, so I had to fiddle with the gain on my speakers' amp and with the radio settings to get everything setup just right. Other than that, it's been great this summer.
